When it comes to launching a brand new MMORPG, there are plenty of things that could go wrong – the most likely being something relate to server issues. So, if you’re a good MMO developer, you want to try to work out all the kinks you can before launch day. Hence, NC’s “Launch Scale Test” of Aion 2 before it releases on October 5.
The test will kick off tomorrow, September 17 at 6 AM Pacific time and run for two days. During the test, players will be able to experience a limited version of the game, and the good news is that anyone can join. You don’t even need a key. Just download the game via Steam or Purple, whichever you prefer. Oh, and you can do that now so it’s installed and ready to go tomorrow.
As for what the limitations are, the shop won’t be open to players. The Marketplace, Quna exchange, and player-to-player trading will be turned off as well. It won’t matter much anyway as progression will be wiped following the test. In addition, the only default outfits will be available to players and the max level will be limited to 37, meaning we won’t see all of the higher-level content.
Another thing to note is that if you choose to install the test version of the game on Steam, you’ll need to uninstall it before installing the full game before Advanced Access on September 30.
