The Daily Grind: Which MMORPG sound effect bugs you the most?

The sonic landscape of any MMO consists of a couple of things. Sure, you’ve got the music, the voice acting, the big and obvious stuff… but then you’ve got the little sound effects. The crunch of footsteps on dry leaves or fresh snow, the whistling of wind, the oh no someone is spamming that one ability with the sound effect you hate. It’s not necessarily bad, it’s just that one sound you hate to hear more than anything, and it sends a little wince through you as it happens.

Sometimes, of course, the sound effect is bad. It’s bitcrushed in a particularly grating fashion, or it’s shrill, or it’s too high-quality and the squishing noise sounds like something else and you just instinctively say nope right away. But whether or not it’s bad isn’t the point today. The point today is which MMORPG sound effect bugs you the most, regardless of the actual quality of the sound?
