It sounds like pitting 900 players in a battle for territory control is just asking for chaos, but then again, if you’re a fan of the PvP in Netmarble’s mecha MMO RF Online Next, then perhaps you’re going to be excited by the arrival of the Albern Warzone that’s currently available.
This new PvP instance pits three teams of up to 300 players against one another — one team from three servers in the same region — in a two-part battle for dominance. The first portion is a 15-minute occupation battle that tasks players with capturing as many sites as possible and earning points for their server, while the second portion transforms those captured areas into PvE hunting grounds that spawn a variety of monsters and bosses of different levels.
Naturally, there will be some rewards for entering this battlefield, particularly from fighting high-level monsters during the hunting phase, such as high-tier gear and items, while chests full of extra goodies will be handed out for winning teams and contributing players.
In addition to the big burly bot brawl, the update has also introduced the core link progression system for high-level players, a guild training ground for guildies to test PvP builds, a new guild expedition season, and a host of other events. For the most part, though, it’s all about that 900-person warzone.
