Bungie confirms that it is renting out its massive office headquarters

That headline is going to come as little surprise to those who have been watching the slow self-immolation of Bungie, but it still likely sucks to learn, particularly if you’re among those who have been long-time fans of its games. Either way, Bungie is now attempting to sublease its massive headquarters in Bellevue, WA to potential commercial renters.

A 10-page leasing brochure seen by The Game Post sells up 210,984 square feet of rentable space as a “turn key” building ready for specialized production facilities, with the master lease running through September 30th, 2035. A spokesperson for Bungie confirmed the offer to the site, claiming that the studio “is exploring options to sublease its campus” as a result of the studio “[transitioning] to a digital-first model several years ago.”

This HQ was part of Bungie’s immense growth spike and apparent rampant misspending, with the original space being expanded at a reported cost of hundreds of millions of dollars from about 84,000 square feet to its near 211,000 square foot size. Readers already know that the studio has reaped this whirlwind several times over, most of which falling in the laps of regular workers as the studio suffered multiple layoffs. This just appears to be another awful layer on an already terrible sundae.
