Blizzard has opened the beta test for World of Warcraft: Forever, its newly announced persistent-world branch of the MMO, giving early testers a look at a reimagined original Azeroth built to expand for years rather than serve as a limited-run event. Access isn't fully open: players who opted in can be selected for invitations sent out regularly through the test, and eligible digital-bundle purchasers also gain entry.
According to Blizzard, the Skyborne Epic Pack and the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection both include beta access. Purchasers should expect minimal delays of up to 30 minutes and may need to restart their launcher before getting in; selected opt-in players should confirm access via the Battle.net desktop app once it updates.
Getting In and What's There Now
To install, players update the Battle.net app, select World of Warcraft, choose the World of Warcraft: Forever Beta option under In Development, and create a new test character on an available realm. Blizzard is also flagging phishing attempts tied to invitation emails, advising anyone unsure of an invite's legitimacy to verify a beta license under Your Game Accounts in their Battle.net account directly.
The Week 1 level cap sits at 20, rising later in the beta to 30. Testing content includes the new Skyborne race and Zephras Isle, all zone content up to level 20, and two new dungeons - Hall of Thanes (levels 13–18) and Ruins of Lordaeron (levels 15–20). Additional zones, dungeons, and a new battleground will open as testing progresses, alongside more detail on ongoing interface and controller testing Blizzard has been running in parallel.
What Comes Next
Blizzard confirms the beta runs through October 21, the last full day of testing before final preparations begin for launch, though no full-game release date has been announced. A later "Server Slam" will briefly open the beta to anyone for a several-hour window, with timing details still to come - worth watching for players still waiting on an invite.
